The Role
We are seeking a proactive Account Executive (AE) to develop and convert leads into new sales and deliver upsell opportunities. The successful AE will act as a primary point of contact with new and existing clients and will work within the Commercial team, collaborating closely with the Commercial Director, Technical Sales Team and Sales & Marketing Lead to progress opportunities into projects. This role requires SaaS experience, tech sales knowledge and ideally an understanding of the challenges faced by the FMCG industry. An in-depth knowledge of the promoted product will be developed and excellent sales, negotiation, organisational and interpersonal skills are required. Responsibilities include preparing presentations, running product demos, explaining benefits, developing detailed proposals, negotiating technical agreements and closing deals.

Whilst we operate as a flexible remote business some travel to visit prospective clients is expected, the Commercial team also embraces occasional in-person collaboration, making this an exciting role with opportunities for face-to-face teamwork, complemented by quarterly team-building events and an active focus on wellbeing. 

Responsibilities 

  • Sales Execution: Initiate new sales, deliver product presentations, run demos and communicate the value of our products/services. 
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop/maintain client relationships, ensure client satisfaction and identify future opportunities. 
  • Proposal Development: Create and deliver detailed, tailored proposals to prospective clients. 
  • Negotiation & Closing: Negotiate terms and close deals, working to meet and exceed sales targets. 
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams (inc. Marketing, Product, Professional Services & Customer Success) to ensure a seamless customer experience. 
  • Administration: Track sales progress and update CRM (HubSpot) to ensure accurate and timely reporting. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to software development, sales strategies and processes to optimise closing rates. 

Requirements 

  • Evident Experience: 2-3+ years of SaaS Software sales experience or a similar tech-focused sales role. 
  • Proven Success: A track record of achieving sales targets and quotas. 
  • Skilled in Sales: History of developing new sales opportunities and closing high-value deals. 
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work with clients and internal teams to deliver effective solutions. 
  • Communication: Demonstrated ability to build relationships, negotiate and influence key decision-makers. 
  • Organisation: Strong ability to manage time, priorities and clients through the sales pipeline efficiently. 
  • Self-Driven Attitude: Proactive and target-driven nature, motivated by success and achieving goals. 
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient with software systems such as CRM systems (preferably HubSpot) and sales tracking tools. 
  • FMCG / Food Industry Knowledge: Ideally, some familiarity with the food sector and FMCG, to better relate to and serve client needs. 

Remuneration
We offer a competitive salary, £45,000pa – £65,000pa (depending on experience) as a base salary and the inclusion of performance-based incentives, with the opportunity to increase overall compensation based on meeting sales targets. Benefits include 34 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), private healthcare scheme, pension and significant opportunities for professional growth.
